Common Areas, Amenities, and Facilites in Your Condo Unit
July 9, 2026
While living in a condo, you might find that certain elements of the common areas are frequently under repair, or inaccessible. Though we understand that these interruptions can be inconvenient, please keep in mind that all decisions made regarding condo common areas are done so by the building’s board of directors, and customer care team.
This includes, but is not limited to – matters involving:
- Elevator operations and elevator wait times
- Garbage disposal protocols
- Lobby and front entrance repairs and renovations
- Cleaning protocols including hallway carpets
- Suite door and doorframe cosmetics
- Amenity repair or renovations (gym, pool, party room)
- Visitor parking
- Move-in and move-out procedures
- Exterior window cleaning
- Central air conditioning / heating control, and temperature control
- Package and mail collection

Please keep in mind that these facilities are not the responsibility of your landlord, nor is your landlord able to control the timelines of such matters.
While community living has its conveniences, we ask that all tenants remain aware that repair, renovation and construction are a part of routine building maintenance. Decisions regarding all building protocols are made by a board of directors, for the wellbeing and collective benefit of the residents. Please also keep in mind that contracting work often involves many moving parts and lengthy wait times, which is further out of the landlord’s control.
We thank you for your understanding!
