Necessary Property Updates for Successful Unit Turnover

Ensuring that your unit is ready for a new tenant’s move-in, is essential to ensure that the property is leased quickly and without headaches. Proper turnover also helps the unit show well to prospective clients, lessening the time the property spends on the market.
As a minimum, we recommend that all condo owners authorize the following standard turnover updates to their suite, regardless of the length of the previous tenant’s stay!
- Changing all filters throughout the unit
- Proper removal and cleaning of ceiling vent fans
- Recaulking across any fixture seals to ensure no moisture loss
- Thorough cleaning of dryer lint traps, both in the machine and embedded in the ceiling
- Testing smoke alarms and CO alarms, and changing of any necessary batteries
- Testing of all drains and faucets, to check for clogs and backups
- A full professional deep clean of all unit fixtures, including inside and behind appliances
These items ensure that the unit is not only ready for your new tenant’s move, but that the unit receives the proper maintenance for long term successful upkeep.
